Why? Well for one, our Glass lathe showed up! When we do open the doors, were gonna make sure it worth it. Also, we decided to go for one of our more challenging projects yet. What it is, we cant yet say. But what we can say is its going to bring the normal glass head A LOT closer to the torch, and the artists behind them. Like we said, our new store isnt just a Gallery anymore. Its a store that supports the glass head lifestyle…

As the days go by, were getting closer & closer to bringing our Glass Heads Fantasy Factory to Fruition. If we havnt said it before, trust us. The new Heady Glass Gallery is going to be WELL worth the wait.

One thing we HATED about moving stores was having to slow down the flow of Heady pieces coming in from all our favorite artists. Were glad to have hit the point where thats all starting up again. Since the new store is getting closer to being done, we picked up our Heady game. First up? NICK VOORHEES!

Even for people that dont collect, they ALWAYS find their eyes locked onto Nick’s unique work when checking the cases. Its no wonder why, really… the guy is simply amazing behind the torch. He is able to envision VERY elaborate designs and looks, and execute them to a T!

When first getting into glass collecting, a great local artist once told us “You can always tell the good glass artists from the great glass artists simply by their marbles”

If your collecting lives by that motto, your collection itself would probably consist of a LOT of Voorhees.

So what did we get from the knife murderer this round? Dries!

Nicks work has a HUGE organic, earthy, undertone. You wont find many wig wags here, rather, beautiful mixed colors, Cut & Carved sections, Horns, & Marbles. but no matter WHAT he adds, they always coming out astonishingly THICK & Functional!

Another thing we LOVE about Nicks work is that he… SIGNS IT! We cant stand it when an artist takes hours, days, weeks, sometimes months to create a piece, only to let it go, nameless. Just stupid…

Sometimes, Nick will even sign his shit TWICE! There no guessing who made these…

IF there is ONE style Nick is known for more so than any other, its his Sculpted Faces. Who knows how someone could actually be this precise day after day when making true pieces of art like these heads, but he seems to get better & better evertime we see a new one from Voorhees

While the Head pieces are sick, we personally have a sweet spot for his Cut & Carved work

Theres just something about the semetry, the colors, and the overall primal look of this style. Doesnt matter what kind of piece he applies this style to, its gonna come out hot!

When their all in one place, its a LOT easier to see why were so stoked on Nicks work. Just look at that Variety! So Nick Voorhees isnt all we have been stocking up on latley. After seeing that amazing Itza Double Chamber, Fixed Stem Bubbler with the fire & Ice work, we couldnt resist going back for another order. The new Itza Double Chamber MONSTER bubblers are all about versitility. They come with either 8-Arm trees, or their new Circulator Diffusers. Since the front can uses a MONSTER joint, you can EASILY swap the type of diffusion your rocking in the front can faster than you can say……….. Antidisenstablishmentairainism.  That’s pretty quick! Its finally here….

Yes, the NEWEST SG box is finally here!!! We have waited a looooong time to make this post, but were stoked to finally make it. But heres the thing… we only got a handfull! Very VERY small box. But what was in it is what counts, right?

If those percs look a little bigger to you… its cause THEY ARE! SG Sovereignty is now working with TWELVE ARM PERCS! Even better, he is grid diffusing the arms. Can perc really even get any better?

So what exactly did we get in this box?

For one, this AMAZING Triple chamber, 24 ARM, Stemless…. and it even has a GRIDCAP in the bottom!!!!

This monster has a worked  front disc, and a matching slide…

but its one of his NEW SLIDES TOO! He took the ice pinch design, and added his twist to it.

Aside from that, we locked down 2 Double Chamber GridCap to 12-Arm’s…

And last but certainly not least… we dont know how.. but we got a KING SINGLE BUBBLER!!!!!!

We havnt seen one of these in a LOOONG time, but even this one came with a variation on it too…

He ditched the 4-Arm design, and kicked the Grid perc into overdrive! This thing comes within MILLIMETERS of the bottom, and has wayyy too many holes to count. So why is this good? More tiny holes =’s smaller bubbles meaning more surface area touching the water, which is taking out inpurities out of your tobacco smoke. If you didnt folow that, it just keeps your shit clean.

So since the SG cases usually dont last long, were letting you guys decide whether you get one or not. With these FOUR pieces, you wont have to camp at our online store, refreshing, waiting for them to pop up. What were gonna do is simple. Almost TOO simple…

So Monday came and went. If ya cant tell by now… were busier than Janet Jacksons tittie at the superbowl.  To all our loyal readers, the cycle of posting once a week will be coming to an end soon, and well get back to the daily posts, and the daily delivery of head pieces from all over the country.

Since were on the new store subject, we FINALLY feel its time to start releasing some info. For one, LOTS of people have been asking where the new store is going to end up. We have heard all kinds of rumors too. All the way from us just moving one block down from our old store, all the way to us setting up shop in Aspen, and even Summit County AKA Breckenridge, Colorado…

Being from Colorado, we LOVE Breck. The town is just beautiful at night, and the locals arent typical locals. But… Were gonna have to crush this rumor. While its not to say we wont open one in the Future up in Breckenridge, our next store WONT be up there.

So… where is it going to be? ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO! No, not Inglewood, ENGLEWOOD! Sounds the same, just ours isnt the hood. For those IN Colorado, no more one way streets and shitty parking! Were only 10-15 minutes south of our old location, and just a couple blocks off Broadway! For now, thats all were giving out about the location. But whats going to be IN IT?

By now you have probably heard of the HUGE new addition to Heady Glass, but for those who havnt… well recap ONE LAST TIME…

We liked our last spot, but in planning the NEW store, we wanted it to be more than just a pipe gallery. We wanted it to be a community & lifestyle store for EVERYONE to enjoys glass, to be able to go and not just shop, but kick it! Lets face it… we ALL like sick heady pieces, but theres just something special about being able to WATCH an artist create one of those pieces. Even more so if its yours!  So… we started Heady Glass STUDIOS! Now everyone from the collector to the artist can come in and kick it in a laid back atmosphere, while watching some of the best in the nation tear it up on the torch…

The NEW Heady Glass Studios will be in the SAME BUILDING as the NEW Heady Glass Gallery too! Well have over 1500 sqft of studio space for artists to rent space in, have demos, classes, and even Colorados FIRST EVER Pipe Makers Glass Competiton! So by now, we probably have some of you artists attention. what can you guys look forward to? Lots!

What every glass blowers Fantasy Factory needs…. a BADASS LITTON WEL LATHE! No… Really!

Now we dont want to leave the collectors out of this whole thing. If your wondering what the hell a lathe is, your not a lone. A Scientific Glass Blowing Lathe is the PRIMARY tool used to make high end tubes, AC’s, and it even assists in many other techniques while making a piece. Needless to say, even if you dont know what it does, their fun as hell to watch!

So whether your a glass blower, or just someone who is simply interested in seeing their piece made RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM, your gonna NEED to make it down here!

So enough with the new store… but before we go on, take another look at that video above. That piece is a custom fixed stem being made IN Itza’s facility! If you remember in our last post, we dropped hint that the Itza custom Fixed stem bubbler was finally HERE! What we didnt post was many pictures. Some would call that a huge tease. Regardless, were here with some pictures for yall…

Itza glass has been creepin up slowly, but surely. Works for us cause we take pride in supporting up & comers, especially ones doing BIG THINGS Like Itza. This custom though is not for the weak…

This piece has a lot going on in it. It uses a Straight Tube style base with a THICK flared foot, and moves its way up through 55mm bore with an 8-Arm Fixed stem first chamber, that flows into an 8-Arm Tree.

Itza caked this bubbler out in some CLEAN Fire & Ice worked sections, but dont let the work fool ya. This thing functions even better than it looks!

This bubbler has 16 total arms throughout it, and EACH of them have 2 Diamond cut diffusion slits. Like we said, this thing RIIIPS!

The Tube style mouthpiece clears the shit out of this beast, while staying pretty damn comfortable. We dont know how they did it, but with that alone, we might start switching from tubes to these!

And the one thing we know is on everyones mind… HOW STURDY IS IT?!?!?

Well put it this way… when describing this many Reinforcements, most people think your talking about the Army. In true Itza fashion though, they save your pocket book the added expense of getting a high-flow snapper slide to match the performance of this bub. Uh huh. Its that CIRCULATOR ACTION! Wow… lets take a step back for a second. For those that have been with HeadyGlass.COM for a WHILE, you probably remember when Jason Hedman of Hedman Headies unvieled the FIRST EVER Circulator Ashcatcher @ one of HGG’s art shows over 2 years ago…

Its cool to see all these new Glass Blowers pay homage to Hedman by using his own invention. But for the record…. COLORADO DID IT FIRST!!!!

While Hedmans are nice, Itza has taken their interpretation of glass, and added it to Hedmans innovative design.

For one, they kept it a traditional “Pill bottle” style can, instead of using a flared bottom. Yhey also used a bigger bore downstem, and proped the whole unit up on a straight tube style Flared Foor. No more tipping your AC over…

So keep an eye out for those in our next order. It you sent us an E-mail to get on the waiting list for this Itza custom, keep an eye on your E-mail! Were gonna start going down the list untill this beauty finds a good home.

So since this post is already longer than hell, were just keep it movin. As things get closer to opening here @ Heady Glass Gallery, we have started picking up the buying schedual again. To kick the head piece section off, we went to one of our ALL TIME FAVORITES… the Knife murderer himself…. NICK MOTHERFUCKING VOORHEES!!!!!!

We have been diggin Nicks work for YEARS now. His array of styles is simply amazing. He can pull out a Cut & Carved Steamroller one day…

And make 2 of the illest Sculpted slides you have ever seen, the very next.

Simply put, Nick Voorhees is one of the most talented Glass Artists alive, and were stoked to be getting FIVE NEW DRIES from him sometime next week. If Voorhees is your thing, your in luck!

And Last in the new Glass Update.. someone we havent really stocked too much of and to be honest… we dont know why!!! His glass is amazing, his pieces are of the most functional money can buy, and he has been around FOREVER!

But since we enjoy a good tease, were gonna leave it at that. Just know this lathe monster is going to have a box to us VERY soon with all kinds of goodies including TWO different kinds of slides, including a 10-arm SLIDE (just wait…) and even a 8-Arm chubbler AC! So the work just keeps piling on here at the new spot. But… nothing can stop us! Day by day were getting closer to opening. Trust us guys this is WELL worth the wait…

So next week were gonna be dropping a BUNCH of  info about the new spot. We have NEW artists lined up, some events that ALREADY arent that far away, and… info on this…

We asked Itza for it, and they came though BIG TIME! This is the bubbler EVERYONE has been waiting for! But… were not giving up any info till after the weekend. So it seems everyone is just as stoked on the Bradford as we were!

Yea sure, we LOVE our Headys, but you just cant beat the feel of a Bradford piece. The people that have already received theirs are LOVING the weight. Like we said, theres only a FEW carrying Bradfords work, so were stoked to be carrying his amazing line of glass. If you havnt checked it out already…. DO IT!! So things have been kinda slow on the new glass front here @ Heady Glass Gallery recently. Most of you can guess why, but for those who are new to HeadyGlass.COM…. we are opening a NEW STORE!!

We thought about opening 2, possibly even 3 Heady Glass Gallery’s across Colorado But… our collector side was kinda begging for more. So… we CLOSED our old location (ABOVE), and went in search of a better place for Heady Glass Gallery to open their doors again, along with a little something extra…

Like many glass collectors, we are just plain obsessed with glass in general. Pipes, Marbles, Paper Weights, Beads… If its made with Boro, we like it. If something can be done something bigger and better…. we WILL! With that in mind, we made plans to not just open a gallery but a STUDIO as well!

Whats this mean for you guys? A LOT! For starters, remember our infamous partys?

We have had Artists like Cowboy, Hedman, Big-Z, Lostin Glass, and more all here with their most special creations for our art shows. Sure we had Free Beer, Glass Giveaways, and even the ability for people to get their piece signed by the artist. What we didnt have? The ability to let you guys Not just view the final piece… but WATCH them make it! Even better, well have the ability for collectors ALL ACROSS THE NATION to place custom orders from our artists while their here

So it wont just benefit you local heads, this is going to benefit the WHOLE NATION!

The one thing we made sure to watch though while looking for a new spot was Space. We have been in Head Shops W/ Studios before and for the most part… their cramped! You cant move between cases well, or see the artist working in back. Its a great idea, but to do it right… you need space! Lots of Space!

With that said, were not giving out ANY more hints. However, as it gets closer to opening day, well drop some hints for you guys to drool over. One thing is for certain though… our GRAND OPENING party is NOT an event to be missed! Well keep ya guys posted…

Treat your BRADFORD like a homie…. and kick it! Well, not all the time but we do it just to see the look on people faces, while were kickin it. A Lot of people think were all about solid color worked Headys… NOT TRUE!

Yes, even us at Heady Glass HAD to snag a Bradford the first… and second time around. Sure, we have plenty of pipes, but the fact is… PEOPLE GO PLACES!!! They do things, and like to bring pipes with them. Just like with a backpack, a pair of shoes, or even a car. You want DURABLE PERFORMANCE!

We firmly believe a pipe speaks a LOT about someones personality. Now how many times have you been in a rotation, only to pull out a $5 piece, that people are scared to hold without breaking? He finished these off with a BRIGHT strip of Dichroic glass running through the body of the spoon. We dont know about you guys, but if you could even FIND something this comperable locally… it would be $60-$70. Yea… not here! Hows $34.99 sound?
